Cool

    Interesting day today...

First off, I declared I had to make it into work today after taking one day off and then getting stuck at home yesterday, and working from home. They finally plowed the snow off my road, so I thought I'd have no problem...

Then I got stuck at the end of the driveway. With the help of a great neighbor, 40 minutes later, I was on the road. I noticed my front tires were pretty bald (while my nose was 4" away from them pushing my car), so I went and got 2 new front tires after work today.

$340 (OUCH) later, my car now drives much better. Damn sports cars and Michigan winters...

I was bummed about the tire thing, so on my way home I had to stop at Toys R Us. The same TRU, mind you, I swore to never go to again after months of NOTHING good there.

Well, they had the new X-Men figures. I ended up getting 2 of the Gambits, because I think they'll make great base figures for customs. I like the Rubbery cape as opposed to the cloth one too. I think I have the perfect base for that Grifter custom I've always wanted to do!

Then to Spider-Man - they only had ONE of the new Spider-Man 2 figures. Imagine my OUTRIGHT SURPRISE it was the Super-Articulated 6" one!! WOOHOO - picked him up too. Then, as I'm leaving - and here's the amazing part - an employee stops ME, and asks if I collect Marvel Legends. It depends, I say.. there's a few series 5 ones I want, but I haven't seen any series 5 (they only had Series IV out). He says, we just got two cases in on the truck, want me to go get them for you??

WHOAH!!! I'm lucky if they do that when I ask if they have anything in back!! I was excited, I can finally get a Red Skull, maybe a Blade (even though he looks poopy)!!

Well, he went and got the two cases... "Looking for Red Skull?" he asked? You bet, man...

Two cases... not one Blade or Red Skull. What a Bummer. I did get a Sabretooth though... already had a Colossus (the best in the line). I really wanted Nick Fury, but man the head sculpt blows. Maybe I'll get one eventually and do a head swap with something...

Anyhow, it worked out ok, and I'm not so bummed about the tires anymore.

Who woulda thunk that a TRU employee could be so cool?? Shocking shocking stuff...

I think Blade is kinda weird looking - they got the likeness down, but overall, eh. I really want a Red Skull. Colossus and Sabretooth are pretty cool - the only ones of series 5 worth getting really. Mr.Fantastic, Silver Surfer and Nick Fury all have really dopey head sculpts too.

    And I got Eagle GTs.

And yes, I hate car expenses too for the same damn reason. Grrr.
